Did you know that the City of Buckner was originally known as Buckner Hill? The “Little Village in the Valley” sits directly on the Santa Fe Trail, and continues our role as both a solid starting point and a welcome destination.

Travelers these days may be stopping by for an excellent meal in one of our fine restaurants, for a ball game, to see the Chicago Lights Christmas display, to visit one of our ever-increasing retail and service establishments, to attend a Fort Osage School District event, or simply for a respite in rural splendor before tackling the 10-minute commute to Independence or the half-hour drive to all that KC has to offer.

Mayor Box, the Board of Aldermen, our friendly and courteous City and Police Department staffs, and the growing number of folks who call Buckner home welcome you.  If you’re coming for a fish fry, an auction, to attend one of the nearly 25 area churches and faith-based organizations, to grow your business or to settle down and join us for a lifetime, we’re all here to help.  For information, call the City at 816-650-3191.
